Kate Forbes at Digital Scotland 2020 after £11.8m for digital

Scotland's Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Kate Forbes MSP continues to set the agenda for digital being at the forefront of Scotland's reboot and recovery plans. For her keynote at Digital Scotland 2020, she was joined by world-leading public technology expert Mark Schwartz of Amazon Web Services and  Mark Logan whose credentials in Scotland's tech sector include Skyscanner and architect of the Scottish Technology Ecosystem Review.

The conference held online saw a host of speakers from the public and private sectors covering key issues for Scotland's digital and tech sectors from AI to Smart Cities, Data to Skills and Collaboration. Sarah Eynon of Scottish Futures Trust joined a panel of speakers looking at Future-Proofed Digital Infrastructure and Connectivity and talked about the Infralink project that is creating an innovative approach to vital mapping of places andassets available to support further roll-out of connectivity networks.

The conference came the same week that Kate Forbes announced £11.8 of funding including £10m to help business invest in digital. She said:

"This funding will provide an immediate boost and will support businesses to adopt productivity enhancing digital technologies."
