Dundee bus stops go digital

TRAVELLERS on Dundee’s bus network are now only a few clicks away from constantly updated real time information about the next service.

A rolling introduction of “QR code” technology at bus stops across the city is almost complete and Will Dawson, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee has been out and about testing the tech.

He said: “These days almost all of us have a mobile device and if you use it to download a QR reader app you can get instant access to real time information on the next departures from the bus stop you are standing at.

Last year saw 10,000 people – from toddlers to grandparents – enjoy new games created by students and leading games companies. Due to the huge demand, this year’s event has added an extra, fourth day.
